The nuts snugly fit into place, eliminating the need for tweezers or pliers altogether. With the new setup, the nuts no longer slide freely like they used to on the wooden plate. The rod opening has been enlarged slightly to allow for experimentation with removing the entire bearing at a later time. Although the design does not press and hold the bearing firmly in place, I'm confident that it remains securely attached within the wooden panel itself.
