Ultimaker mount for Heavy Duty Spool
thingiverse
This mount, available for download at Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:10219), is designed to fit the heavy-duty printable filament spool. Attach it to your Ultimaker's back, left, or top frame bolt and use a printed thread cap for easy spool changes. The spacer allows the spool to sit away from the frame and you can even print a different size for other spool types. Additionally, there is a shorter version available to mount two spools. Updates include fixing rod fitment issues (02.11.12) and adding a holder for filament shipped with spools (09.11.12). A longer rod was added to hold fat spools (both plastic and cardboard), and the rod length was increased by 50mm to increase clearance from the motor (16.12.12). V3 of the mount provides even more clearance for filament spools hitting the extruder. To assemble, print the parts using the provided links, attach the rod to the mount with a countersink screw or bolt, slide the spacer over the rod, remove the back, left, top frame bolt, and replace it with a 20mm screw after sliding the hook of the mount over the frame. Finally, put on a spool with filament and secure it with the cap.
