Ultimaker Heated Chamber
thingiverse
The original Ultimaker features a heated chamber design; however, installing a heated bed is recommended prior to this modification. For more information, visit http://minifacture.wordpress.com. To proceed with the mod, drill holes on the left, right and front side of the wooden chassis. Print two hinges from Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:79922) to attach the door. A magnetic latch is planned for the door but has not been attached yet. The top cover is glued together, and the opening part is attached as well. Flexible PLA from Ultimaker is used for back flaps to allow free movement of the bowden without constrain, and heat escape is minimized with these flaps in place. After the installation, a 120W power supply can reach up to 70'C within 7-9 minutes, but struggles to hit 110'C. The small size of the power supply is appreciated, but for faster heating, consider using a larger one.
