Human: Filament Feeder Tool assists in maintenance of Ultimaker2 filament feeder by providing a wedge type tool. The problem arises when you remove the filament feeder, causing the filament drive motor to shift into the case and rest on the motor cover. This requires removal of the motor cover and holding the motor while reinstalling the filament feeder. The Filament Feeder Tool allows for completion of this task without allowing the motor to shift its position. In addition to using this tool, having 2 40mm x 3mm cap screws is very helpful. To start, remove just the top 2 screws from the filament feeder and replace them with 40mm cap screws. Once complete, you can then remove the bottom 2 screws and insert the wedge keeper under the knurled pinion to hold the stepper motor in place. Finally, remove the top two long screws along with the filament feeder. Replacing one of the long screws is suggested to help keep the stepper motor aligned in case the machine gets bumped and moves the motor out of alignment. After completing necessary maintenance, remove the alignment screw and use the long screws as handles to insert them into the two top holes. Then, using these screws as handles, remove the wedge tool and install the bottom two screws. Finally, replace the top long screws with proper screws as original. Modifying the thickness of the wedge tool may be beneficial to accommodate your unit's particular pinion to wall gap.
