Ultimaker Design engine Challenge Week 6
youmagine
The challenge for week 6 was to create a compact 3D map that follows your daily commute, fitting neatly into your pocket. The parameters of this challenge were multifaceted: make it futuristic and accessible. The only constraint was the requirement for a shell, which had to be incorporated seamlessly. A new twist in this week's challenge was the "blind eye" condition, where one parameter could be ignored at will. My partner and I chose to set aside the futuristic aspect, focusing on accessibility instead. Our solution was a wallet-sized holder with two distinct components: a case and a slide-in part. The slide-in part contains a map and directions that can be easily inserted into the case. We cleverly integrated the constraint by making our design accessible to a wide range of users and utilizing the shell to enable the sliding feature. Our creation meets the design problem by serving as a path finder that provides clear directions and a visual map, making navigation easier than ever.
