Ultimaker bowden cable repair
thingiverse
Fix your cut cable immediately! Occasionally, my 3mm Plastik may get stuck in the bowden cable due to its 3.10mm or non-round shape. Since the cable's inner diameter is only 3mm, there's no room for error. Once, a plastic piece got so lodged that it was impossible to remove, resulting in a cut tube. Print two parts and use four 12mm M3 screws and nuts. Until I upgrade my Ultimaker with a 4/6mm bowden cable, I had to fix the issue. Initially, I tried using good tape and cable ties, but Teflon® doesn't provide a strong grip. Finally, a 38mm large and thick Tesa® piece did the trick, but it wasn't enough to withstand bending. This can cause alignment issues when changing plastic types. My temporary fix involves a part that keeps approximately 20mm of the tube straight, providing better tape adhesion. Note: This is only an emergency solution. After implementing it, I began printing new clamps (for a new 6mm tube) for the nozzle and feeder.
