Ultimaker Adjustable Belt Tensioner

Ultimaker Adjustable Belt Tensioner

The Ultimaker printer often encounters an issue with loose belts on the X-Y axises. Although several belt tensioners are available, they lack adjustable force tension. I designed a new tensioner that uses standard 5x16 bolts and nuts from the Ultimaker assembly for easy installation and precise control of tension force. To assemble and install it, print two parts named 'Frame' and 'Slider'. Place two bolts and nuts through the holes in both parts. Assemble and mount as shown in the images, adjusting tension with a screwdriver. Note that the tensioner should be installed on the belt with a chink facing inside Ultimaker to prevent interference with the printing head holding blocks. Additionally, avoid using it on the side with the Z-axis to prevent hindrance to printed objects. Refer to the images for further information.
