Ultimaker 2 Replacement Print Head V1.1
thingiverse
This is a custom print head designed for the Ultimaker 2. I created it after my second original print head developed cracks, rendering it unusable. It serves as a drop-in replacement, allowing users to utilize stock bearings without any modifications. The cables are secured on the exterior of the print head, while the outer casing is engineered to be easily removable by loosening just four screws. My design was heavily influenced by the Ultimaker Drop-In Cable Management (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:703974), but I aimed for a drop-in replacement that would not alter the original size and shape significantly, nor require firmware adjustments. UPDATE V1.1: After refining my design, I created a slightly improved version of the print head. I repositioned the hole where the bowden tube clamp is inserted to make it easier to secure. Additionally, I thickened the section on the outer body where the cables are attached to prevent them from breaking off prematurely, as occurred with my ABS prototype.
