Next step is to get more power by following tips from experts at makerpoint.nl. Securing hoses around two crossing print head suspension shafts proves challenging, so I opt to install 40mm fans. Although it's too early to test, they should fit easily. The x-y stage and table need a bit more distance apart, so I add an adapter piece. Another feature added is a heat shield mount, which can be crafted from a beer can or thin metal sheet measuring 0.05-0.2mm. After scouring for 40mm fans, I choose one that's readily available and doesn't exceed 10mm in thickness. Standard bolt pitch is 32mm. I redesigned the adapter plate after making incorrect assumptions about the print head's internal design. Now it can be mounted without disconnecting all cables. Wiring the new fans proves difficult as they hardly rotate, even at 80% fan speed. However, if one fan is short-circuited, the other spins rapidly between 80-100%. The discrepancy lies in their power ratings: 0.05A for the new fans and 0.1A for the originals. The front part obstructs airflow from the permanent cooling fan, making it unusable. A future improvement will address this issue.
