Ultimaker 2 Extruder Gear Housing + 1.75mm & 3.00mm Conversion
thingiverse
Recently I've been dealing with a frustrating issue while loading filament into my printer - it keeps getting stuck on a specific part of the tension bearing housing and jams up before even entering the bowden tube. Determined to fix this, I disassembled the original housing, redesigned it, and smoothed out the edges along the filament's path as I worked on it. While tackling the project, I considered modifying it to accommodate both 1.75mm and 3.00mm materials, thinking it might be tight enough for them. After some effort, I believe I've finally succeeded in making it work (I'm still testing it, but so far, it looks promising as of June 6th). I also added a slot that allows for better visibility when loading material into the machine, enabling closer observation. This part utilizes all the same hardware found in the Ultimaker 2, meaning you won't need to purchase anything extra. It's assembled identically to the original, making it easy to transfer parts. However, I've only tested it on a Ultimaker 2, so I can't guarantee its compatibility with the 2+ series or UMO; if you print it and find it works on those models, please let me know!
