Ultimaker 2 Extended Enclosure

The cover on top is from JUSS10, available at https://www.youmagine.com/juss10/designs and https://www.youmagine.com/designs/acrylic-cover-for-ultimaker-2. The components fit together snugly and I heard some cracking of the acrylic as I tightened down the screw. If I had to redo it, I would slightly taper the tabs and use longer screws to provide more material between the nuts and the screw. The door comes from Ross Clasen, available at https://www.youmagine.com/rossclasen/designs and https://www.youmagine.com/designs/um2-friction-mounted-removable-door-hinge-and-latch-set. I only used the door panel without the hinge. If I were to redo it again, I would add a radius to the corners. (see modified DWG file) The bottom clips for the door come from Mtanu at https://www.youmagine.com/mtanu/designs and https://www.youmagine.com/designs/ultimaker-2-cover. I created the side clips for the door. The door slides upwards to remove it. You might want to add a handle to the door to make lifting easier. Alternatively, you could try making the door taller and then adding a bend at the top. Warning: this ended up costing me about $80 in acrylic, as I used the local Fab-Lab to laser cut the parts.
