Ultimaker 2 Dual Filament Roll Holder
thingiverse
I added an extra etrusion path to my Ultimaker 2+, which required a new roll holder capable of holding two rolls. The longer roll holder sold by Ultimaker, however, wouldn't work because there isn't enough space on the machine. To solve this problem, I designed a custom roll holder in Sketchup and then printed it out. This new roll holder is now installed on my dual extrusion UM2+. This design fits snugly into the holes originally intended for the standard roll holder. In addition to holding two rolls, there's also a cylindrical component that functions as an additional roll holder and a grip ring to secure both the roll holder and the filament rolls in place. A screw that passes through the collar is used to tighten everything down. Alternatively, you could use a combination of screws and nuts or opt for the heat inserts available from McMaster Carr, which I chose to use.
