Human: Simple front and top cover for the Ultimaker 2. To build a protective shell for my Ultimaker 2 Extended printer that retains warmth within for ideal ABS printing conditions, I set out to create a basic top and front enclosure. This solution allows me to easily control ambient temperature levels inside the printer, resulting in improved print quality. For the top cover, I sourced a Sterilite 16 Qt storage tote from Target. Its durability made it an excellent choice for this project, while its large capacity also provided ample room for installing necessary ventilation ports to prevent overheating issues. To accommodate my Ultimaker 2 Extended's standard build size and maintain accessibility to the printer's various components, I designed the cover to be a sleek, yet functional accessory that blends seamlessly with the original equipment. Its robust construction and easy-to-use design ensure trouble-free operation, even in heavy usage scenarios.
