The ULA organic bracket V_01 is a 3D printable design inspired by a tree's branching structure, a bridge, a beam, and a bone. It has been optimized for efficient printing, minimizing overhangs and utilizing angled features greater than 45 degrees to decrease the need for print support material. The design's volume is 1.842 cubic inches, with a volume reduction of 90.82% compared to a base volume of 20.07 cubic inches. Manufactured via 3D printing, it underwent finite element analysis (FEA) to determine its maximum design stress (Von Mises) at 1,547 psi. The factor of safety for this bracket is 2.909, calculated by dividing the ultimate strength (4,500 psi) by the maximum design stress. An applied force of 600 lbf is distributed across two faces, with constraints set at four bolt holes. In terms of optimization, focus was placed on the middle bridge area between the right and left bolt fixtures due to low material yield strength. While it's tempting to minimize this middle section, direct force application requires careful consideration of stress distribution and material limitations. Ardhia Pramesti extends best wishes and good luck to all participants in this project.
