grabcad
This design is for an internal boat tail support bracket on the Atlas V rocket, fulfilling all your specifications. It's a one-piece construction with strategic thicknesses. After two weeks of work, it has no unnecessary features (laughs). For stress minimization, it includes numerous ribs and fillets. The advantages of 3D printing over 5 CNC machining are harnessed. The actual mass is 0.1 lbs, and the volume is 2.161 cubic inches. Maximum part weight is 0.1 lbs, with a minimum wall thickness of 0.040 inches (both within specifications). The ultimate load due to work platform in negative Z direction is 600 lbf, as shown on the envelope drawing (OK). The required material is Ultem 9085, with properties including a strength allowance of 4500 PSI, specific gravity of 1.34, Young's modulus of 325 KSI, Poisson's ratio of 0.41, and non-dissolvable support material. The actual mass and volume align with design parameters.
