Remix of Solstie - Playable UkuleleFrom scratch freecad modeled based on Solstie - Playable Ukulele original measurements and body shape. The freecad files are not exactly user-friendly using 50+ technical parameters and still require some things to be moved by hand (tonebars).I use freecad like blender and booleans as seldgehammer approach. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯My problems with the original design were:- visible vertices after print- does not fit printer- print direction not optimal- By printing with the original roundness i found out that the sound is too muffled when the backside of the ukulele is touching the player. My problems with this design:- stupid mini support for neck required - head (nearly) too thick for tuning pegs- tuning pegs turn direction makes no sense- default export to stl produces barely visible vertices on the side of the body- head leaves only little space for handSo by sheer number, it's worse than before.Print- Printed with PLA- With the predefined parameters the body is pretty thin and not very round. The tuning might be too unstable.Body- printable on prusa i3 (25x21x21), cut off ~0,01mm in slic3r- prints angled without supports- underside of ukulele has too much overhang, prints fine, does not look too niceNeck- printable on prusa i3 (25x21) lying down- iirc 4 outer layers for stability, see original- needs to be cut slightly in slic3r to clean up - sadly we need some supports for the part that connects to the body- the head is too thick and typical tuning pegs barely can barely be screwed- The way i designed it and put the string on, every other peg uses a different direction for tuning. This makes things exciting and unique :D
