Fan adapters designed for 40 mm fans are available to fit into the UniFi 16-port 10Gbe switch US-16-XG. However, there's a compatibility issue between 40 mm and 30 mm due to a lip on the top part of the case that requires engagement with a pin at the back, necessitating a maximum height of 30 mm for around 20 mm of its length. No assurance can be given that using these adapters won't damage your switch, as it was specifically designed to use its own fans. Users are advised to proceed with caution and acknowledge the risk involved. An offset design (left-handed version) has been implemented to bypass the console port. In contrast, the right-handed version is centered and mounts on the right side. Both left-hand adapters could be used if desired, or possibly both right-hand adapters might fit with some adjustment. Step files with and without rounded edges have been uploaded for anyone interested in making modifications.
