The Universal Machine Gun Model 1959 is a Czech-made machine gun that originated in the 1950s. It remains a part of Czech Army and Slovak Armed Forces arsenals. The Uk vz. 59 fires 7.62x54mmR cartridges, as well as a Vz. 59N variant for 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition, which are delivered via an ammunition belt. This versatile machine gun can be used in various roles, including as a light machine gun with a lightweight barrel and bipod on the vz. 59L model, or as a medium machine gun with a heavy barrel and tripod. It can also function as a co-axial mounted weapon with the Vz. 59T version. The pistol grip serves as both the charging handle for the Uk vz. 59.
