UK Plug Shelf
thingiverse
A 3D-printed shelf holds smart meters and other objects securely in place, utilizing a three-pin plug as a stabilizing mechanism. The part is designed to be printed with the plug-side facing down on the build platform, eliminating the need for support material. Testing confirms that power from the socket still flows through when a plug is inserted. Printed at a low-resolution layer height of 0.3mm, the shelf turns out well despite some minor dimensional issues around the plug pin. To compensate, a knife is used to carefully expand the area. The design's tolerances have since been relaxed in the updated file to ensure a smoother fit.
