In all, over 40 of these vessels were built and served with distinction in the British Navy as Captains Class Frigates. These remarkable ships boasted a impressive array of armament, including three 3-inch artillery pieces, one quad 40 mm anti-aircraft gun, and three torpedo launch tubes for standard M14 torpedoes - not to mention eight 20 mm cannons.
