UFS-035 Screwdriver using Hex Bit - Driver & Stubby

The original mini hex bit driver was both impressive and flawed. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4040548 The standout feature was the well-designed ridges, which provided a secure grip on the handle. It was also an innovative idea to have the stubby pop out of the handle, creating a two-in-one tool. However, I felt that it was designed with the hex bit in the wrong orientation. I decided that the hex bit would look better if it protruded from the smaller end. This is because the tip of a screwdriver should be narrow, allowing for easy insertion into tight spaces where screws often hide. Since this design held hex bits, a slight thickness to reinforce the tip was reasonable. The stubby half of the screwdriver presented a different challenge. The stubby is designed to fit snugly within the thicker handle. A stubby's purpose is to be short and stout, ideal for situations where screws are exposed but space in front of them is limited. This calls for a distinct design approach. The design makes this 3D print difficult to execute correctly. The ridges on the stubby part must fit perfectly within the handle. However, thanks to its tapered shape, the stubby starts loose and becomes snug as it's inserted. If printer and slicer settings are not optimized, this part may prove tricky to build. Scaling the design could be problematic, as it might alter both the fit of the stubby part and the hex bit holder. Fortunately, adjusting printer settings can often resolve these issues. The driver is designed to accommodate 1/4" hex bits (6.35mm). The tapered hole ensures that the bit becomes securely seated as it's inserted, preventing it from falling out. I've included a photo comparison of other specialty screwdriver handles found on Thingiverse for reference.
