The UC2 "You See Too" project (https://github.com/openUC2/UC2-GIT) offers a versatile, modular framework for developing interactive optical projects as open source hardware (publication: https://doi.org/10.1038/s41467-020-19447-9). Designed for beginners and professionals alike, the UC2 system offers ease of assembly with its magnetic click-and-go concept, acting as a rapid-prototyping tool. This user-friendly system can host a wide range of components, including optical pieces and electronics such as Arduinos and ESP32s, paving the way for "smart" functions like LED array illumination and Z-stage controls. The UC2 also serves as an open-standard bridge to external hardware components and devices, with a variety of ready-to-use adapters that create an open ecosystem for optical research and development. Moreover, UC2 is compatible with Raspberry Pi cameras and cellphones, offering cost-effective and high-quality imaging capabilities. The files we're sharing here include the basic UC2 cube, and in addition we share improved and custom cubes, developed by us at the Wenzal Lab, University of Chile. Explore, adapt, and innovate – the possibilities are limitless.
