Ubiquiti UAP-AC-PRO Lightweight AP mount
thingiverse
I loved the sleek design of the Ubiquiti UAP-AC-Pro Horizontal Wall Mount, but I had several design objectives in mind. To start with, I wanted to make sure that the stock self-tapping screws included with the AP could be used to attach the AP's mounting ring. This would simplify the installation process and eliminate any additional costs. Next, I aimed to reduce the overhangs at high angles for easier printing. By doing so, I was able to minimize the amount of filament needed without compromising on strength. In fact, this design uses 56.5 g of filament at an infill rate of 30%, compared to a staggering 108.5 g required by the original design. The result is a rock-solid structure that's perfect for printing multiple units. Since these wall mounts will be installed under floor joists where they won't be visible, I prioritized functionality over aesthetics. The fact that this design is not as visually appealing as the original doesn't bother me in the least. After all, their primary function is to provide a sturdy mounting solution. The screw layout of this design is specifically designed for an upside-down mounting arrangement. While it may look unconventional, this compromise allowed me to save on filament usage. If you prefer, you can still mount it "right side up" with one screw on top, and it will still hold securely due to the AP's lightweight nature.
