Ubiquiti in-wall AP wall mount spacer
thingiverse
Ubiquiti's InWall is a compact AP designed for discreet room usage. I primarily use it when the smaller and more anonymous design offers benefits (anywhere!). The frame from Ubnt assumes the InWall Accesspoint is mounted over a hole. This spacer mounts behind their provided frame, allowing mounting on a flat wall. Two versions are available: Personally, I prefer to mount it with a low spacer and attach the POE cable to the POE out port at the bottom, which works fine. If you want to use the original ethernetport on the backside, print the 40mm version. This will provide space for the Ethernet cable on the backside of the AP. If you have a 90 degree connector or your ethernetcable has no bend protection, you can print it at approximately 70% height. In both cases, you need two flathead screws (max dia 5mm) of suitable length for your spacer and situation. Place this spacer behind the original frame and attach both to the wall using two suitable screws. Then follow the original instructions. I have only used the AC AP's but the HD model seems to have a similar frame, so this spacer should be usable with that unit as well. Edit: I tried it with the HD and found that the frame is different, yet it still works fine with this spacer. However, the HD only accepts uplink through the backconnector.
