The human-designed device is tailored to fit a #6 Hillman nut from Lowes, paired with a 1/2 inch screw. Two disks are mounted: one plastic and one metal, both supplied with the AP kit. The plastic disk tends to be flimsy on AC pros, but the metal disk compensates, allowing for just enough clearance so that the 1/2 inch screw sits flush with the top of the bracket.
