Uber 180 Redesign -- No Supports Needed, VTX + Cam Mounts, Motor Guards
thingiverse
This is a redesign to enhance the features of the Uber frame and make it more printable. Mid: Modifies the design for printability, requiring no support. The original was difficult to print and needed support. It has been modified with cross spars at the bottom for the battery strap, allowing you to print directly on your bed. The bottom has also been flattened, as the original had minimal surface area. Please let me know how these work for you. Top: Adds an SMA connection hole to the top plate of the Uber 180. This protects your VTX and provides a convenient way to mount it without additional fasteners. Rounded corners have also been removed to simplify printing. Top With Cam Mount: A camera mounting hole has been added for standard size FPV cameras, angled at 40 or 30 degrees, depending on the chosen file. Please let me know if you need a different angle or camera size. I attempted to make it user-configurable but found it was not possible. Motor Mount: A small guard piece has been added to the motor mount to protect motors from impacts from the side. These fit RS2205s and should accommodate any 220x motor. Materials: Nylon 910 is the recommended material for this project. Well-printed PLA may be strong enough in some cases, but Nylon is the only material capable of making this frame viable. Printing: To ensure good bonding, print slowly and at high temperatures. Thin layers are recommended for strength, depending on your chosen material. Assembly: Refer to the original Uber180 (shown as a remix on this page) for cut lengths and assembly instructions. Note: I dyed my nylon orange using RIT dye. I lightly glued motor mounts to tubes with superglue, using minimal glue so you may be able to disassemble it later. Hardware: I used 20mm M3 button head screws and 10mm nylon standoffs with standard 35mm aluminum standoffs on top from a ZMR kit. I recommend using metal screws and standoffs throughout for added structure.
