UB40 Coaster v2
pinshape
This is a coaster for all our UB40 fans in the 3D printing community. UB40 makes joyful reggae music that brings smiles. Place your favorite drink on it to enjoy. This coaster measures standard at 100 by 100 by 5 mm, fitting perfectly into my coaster holder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3130397 I printed this model with a 0.15mm layer height and 18% infill using a 0.4mm nozzle. It requires no support, but feel free to use your own configuration. Design Process I selected a logo from my browser and converted it into SVG format in Inkscape. Then, I opened the SVG file in Blender and turned it into a 3D object. Next, I repaired the file and erased some unnecessary parts in Meshmixer. After that, I added a coaster to the design and merged it with the picture after scaling it up. I saved it as an STL file and sliced it for printing. However, even after repairing the model in Meshmixer, it still had some issues. To fix this, I decided to export it into Netfabb Online Service. This app is a recent discovery of mine, and I found it more efficient than MakePrintable. With Netfabb, I have access to an unlimited number of STL fix procedures, which made my choice clear. It worked well for me, and I was able to slice the model without any problems.
