Originally a rounded building that stands tall waiting to welcome its students, employees and teachers into a modern comfortable space, it has been completely revamped. As part of the UASD restoration process, the Great Hall was renovated, with its western section being merged into a large lobby space, an entirely new feature in the previous design. This newly added space consists of a giant transparent glass enclosure resting on the surface of calm water. The view of the original building is perfectly visible from here says architect Frank Ortega who created the stunning new design. Alongside this renovation, a sleek and sturdy glass ring has been put up all around the building completely closing it off in what was previously an open space, complete with aluminum frames being replaced by sleek and durable glass enclosures which serves to maintain its authenticity and essence as a symbol of UASD for generations to come as Ortega says that he and his team undertook "a delicate task" by carefully balancing renovation needs while ensuring they stayed true to the original.
