The UARM Reverse Engineering project, initiated by Lance Pierson as an open source exploration into industrial robotics, is a visionary endeavor aiming to create larger versions of the robots for use in factories at a significantly lower cost and with full public accessibility to both mechanical and digital architecture. The project was inspired by the UFactory's uArm Kickstarter campaign, which Lance came across while searching for open source industrial robot information online. He encourages collaboration on this micro-industrial robot initiative, welcoming assistance, questions, or criticisms. As an impatient anticipator of UARM's release of their plans, Pierson created a SketchUp mockup as a public resource in case others were similarly waiting. The SketchUp file is shared here, while STL files can be generated from the software. Lance Pierson, a 31-year-old father and husband residing in the SF Bay Area of California, has formal education from Khan Academy and works in high-end woodworking for art materials. It should be noted that the STL files provided are not from UFactory, except for one snapshot; they were created by Pierson based on pictures of uArm technical details, with some creative alterations made.
