UAD-2 Satellite 1U Rack Mount

<p>I designed this rack mount bracket so that I could install my two UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt units in my studio's rack mount cabinet. &nbsp;While Universal Audio does not make a rack mount bracket for these units there are unused screws on either side of the unit that have no function, so I designed these brackets to use those screws so two units can be installed together in a 1U rack mount space, instead of taking up space on my desk separate from all the other gear in my equipment rack.</p><p>The support ribs I put in the design might be a bit overkill but I wanted to make sure that these brackets held up under the weight and heat generated by the audio equipment, which can get quite hot.</p><p>After installing in the rack I found that there was too much flex because all the weight was being supported by the brackets in the front only. &nbsp;I then created the included support brace (not shown in pictures). &nbsp;Installing it is really simple. &nbsp;Just remove the two inside back rubber feet from the bottom of the units. &nbsp;Then install the support brace using the same screws and it makes the two units as a whole much more stable.</p><p>I also included a center part without the logo if you don't want to mess with the logo inlay.</p><p>I also remixed the left and right parts in a single unit version so that you can mount only one UAD-2 Satellite in a 1U rack space. &nbsp;I did not personally print and test this so if you do use it let me know how it works and if you have any issues.</p><p>I printed these in Prusament PETG Black so there would be much less risk of the parts warping from the weight and heat of generated by the equipment. &nbsp;For the inlay I used Prusament PLA Vanilla White.</p><p>Design created in Autodesk TinkerCad</p>
