U-type direct drive extruder
thingiverse
I've customized my extruder setup to accommodate my preferred type of filament. I'm working with 1.75mm, which requires a precise assembly including a 3mm nut and cap screw, specifically a 40mm long one. This is reinforced by an additional 5mm long cap screw for extra support, also measured at 20mm in length. One crucial component that shouldn't be overlooked is the specialized M4 screw head with a niche design, only necessary once, to securely fasten the mechanism together. Furthermore, I'm utilizing a single bearing with an external diameter of 4mm, as this serves multiple functions while enhancing overall structural integrity. Additionally, my drive gear must either fit seamlessly within my chosen extruder model's direct drive design and dimensions, ensuring precision as specified for an MK7 or an MK8 unit respectively, each having its distinct performance standards.
