*** Necessity is the mother of invention ! *** Working on older sewing machines is always annoying when I have to remove the slot-head screws on the thread plate near the foot. Manufacturers are kind enough to use screw that can be driven with a coin, but the space you need to work in is too tight to precisely hold & twist a coin. Human thumb and index fingers are awkward in this space around the foot of a sewing machine. This design solves the problem by transforming a U.S. Nickel into a screw-driver that works ergonomically allowing precise control of the coin, and the ability to spin the coin and a targeted screw without damaging the slot of the screw. This tool also allows for more torque when removing or installing screws intended to be managed with a coin. This is best printed on its side, using a raft with the rectangular tab that holds the coin further away (higher) from the build table and customizing the support. This orientation ensure a smooth and flat surface for the edge of the coin to sit on. (see image) Once you clean out any support or other printing artifacts, the nickel can simply be pushed in a snapped down. There is also a penny version of this tool.
