U.S. Liberty Dollar Coin NextEngine Scan
pinshape
This is a high-resolution scan of the 1971 U.S. Liberty dollar, captured using a NextEngine scanner to demonstrate its capabilities. Issues with the included software led to file corruption, so I imported them into Meshlab for processing and waterproofing. Three files are provided: The raw scan from NextEngine One reconstructed through point set, then decimated to 150,000 faces One reconstructed via Poisson surface method, also decimated to 150,000 faces A clear relief pattern is visible at an angle, making it possible to read the year. However, I am unsure if this level of detail will yield a good print quality. These scans are being shared in case anyone would like to experiment with post-processing techniques to improve resolution. Please share your results and photos if you decide to print them.
