U.S. Liberty Dollar Coin NextEngine Scan

thingiverse

This is a 1971 U.S. Liberty dollar scan, done with a NextEngine scanner at the highest resolution, showcasing its exceptional capabilities. I've encountered issues with the bundled software merging and simplifying the files (they get severely distorted), so I imported them into Meshlab for refinishing and waterproofing. I'm sharing three files: The raw scan from NextEngine One that has undergone Point Set reconstruction, then decimated to approximately 150,000 faces One that has undergone Poisson surface reconstruction, then decimated to around 150,000 faces You can see the relief pattern at an angle, allowing you to read the year, but I'm unsure if it's sufficient for a high-quality print. I'm posting these in case anyone is interested in experimenting with them and achieving a better post-processing resolution. Please share your comments if you decide to work on them, and consider sharing a photo of the printed result!
