The Barn Owl. Tyto alba is its scientific name, given to it by Scopoli in the year 1769. Commonly known as lechuza común or barn owl, this species of bird has a distinctive sound. MZB 2011-1132 is the catalog number for this particular specimen. The sternum, or breastbone, measures 36.4 millimeters in depth and 29.7 millimeters in width. This is an adult female Barn Owl, collected on June 26, 2011, in Torelló, Osona, Barcelona, Spain.
