Tyre stacks (Version 2). More than just a pen holder
thingiverse
My first version was done to follow what others had done as I wanted something similar but different. This version is a complete rework. All of these are designed to be linked together to go larger if needs be. Anything from 2 tyres to whatever you feel you need. There are sets of 2,3 and four already joined. These give the largest internal size. Newer revisions have single pieces and new thread adapters. These obviously narrow the opening a little as the thread takes up some of the space. But they do allow for various different options along with the ability to print things easier where required. If you just want a pen holder? print off either the 3 or 4 tyre versions. If you want to extend it for any reason add an extension tyre. If you just want to add a lid? print a wheel lid. If you want a small container? decide the size and print the one you want with the appropriate lid version. Basically, do what you want. The names of the files may initially look confusing, but they make perfect sense to me. Either way, I added the explanation for the filenames in one of the pictures. I have a couple of extras to add at some point, but with what is here there is more than enough to make what you want. Thread check video. Literally just to prove the threads work, initially a bit noisy but absolutely perfect in every way once given a bit of lubricant to remove the musical aspect. https://youtu.be/kL0iuFlew_g
