The Naturalis Biodiversity Center is unearthing a massive Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton in Montana. Museum scientists carefully scanned the actual thighbone of the T.rex, which had been shattered into two pieces, to craft this highly detailed 3D model. A life-size replica (2 meters total length) of this model will be part of the T.rex skeleton on display at the museum. The original thighbone was broken in two; to print the entire bone, you must print both a Top and Bottom section. Two sets of files are included in this design: the original models created by Naturalis, and those of the bones already split and optimized for 3D printing. The split pieces can be easily glued together using a key that fits snugly into both pieces for effortless alignment. To learn more about printing this model, check out our step-by-step tutorial, which includes a comprehensive guide on how to split the original bone models for easy printing: http://ultim.kr/2aqijck
