Tyrannosaurus-Rex 3-layered-animal cnc/laser
thingiverse
I created some simplified 3D animal designs for my CNC machine early on, featuring three layered creatures that were a starting point for further development. Later, two dinosaurs made their way into the mix: the Stegosaurus and the Triceratops, which I found particularly intriguing. The Tyrannosaurus Rex was always destined to follow in their footsteps, and now it's finally here: *The mighty T-Rex!* I employed my entry-level CNC machine on 9 mm birch plywood, utilizing a spiral-toothed 1.5 mm flute to cut out the parts with precision. A 4 mm beech rod made alignment a breeze and allowed for movable extremities. For smaller versions of this design, a laser cutter might prove to be an excellent alternative tool. It's also possible to create an aluminum or brass version and assemble the parts using screws to produce a compact key fob.
