Tyranid Monstergirl
thingiverse
Hi, Jaenen! (Pervert.) Shh! So I was browsing Thingiverse the other day, looking for something that caught my eye - and I stumbled upon this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3362254 I'm a sucker for monstergirls; I love Warhammer 40k; and I've got a friend who plays GSC, so I figured she might appreciate one of these models too. The problem was that after three attempts to remove the supports my Snapmaker added, I ended up breaking some claws or others every time. But on the fourth try, it came off easily - only to reveal that the hand-claws had turned into a messy heap. I tried uploading the model into TinkerCAD, but it wasn't going anywhere. And let's be honest, I'm not exactly a pro at using Meshmixer for anything other than splitting something in half for printing. So I thought to myself, "You know what? You're just not going to get this monstergirl printed." But then I remembered that I'm pretty handy with TinkerCAD - and there's plenty of other source material out there. So I started digging through the STLs I'd collected over time; most of which I'd never actually used before. And after a bit of searching, I found some more parts to work with. I got to work in TinkerCAD, and this is what I came up with. As I was working on it, I started thinking about how such a creature might exist in the Warhammer 40k universe - maybe as an Imperial Guard thing. It's not hard to imagine some Magos Biologi experimenting with weird-ass technology, and then suddenly being cut off from oversight when Cadia fell. They could've gone wild with their experiments, and maybe even managed to survive a purge or two. My own army's theme is that the Inquisitor I play for collects muscle for when he needs to throw some violence around - but he can't just call in Space Marines whenever he wants; he has to ask nicely. So it was fun to think about how some of these monstergirls might end up working for him. I gave this thing a homebrewed datasheet, and I even planned on doing one for the pure-nid version - but never got around to it. Oh well. Anyway, I cobbled this together in TinkerCAD from various sources - including Yoko Littner (which I'm not sure where to find anymore). And I tweaked those grenade launchers so they're less flimsy now. I thought I'd share this with you all because heresy is fun; and maybe someone who knows what they're doing will be inspired to create a better monstergirl. Hope it amuses you, folks!
