Tyranid Hive Ship
thingiverse
I'm excited to share my Hiveship design with you, and I hope you'll appreciate its uniqueness compared to other models out there. My goal was to avoid the typical "tyranid claws glued together" look that's so common. The fins on this model are carefully crafted to reflect their functional purpose. The coding system runs from front to back, with four knocks indicating the forward section, three in the middle, and two towards the rear. To ensure a smooth fit, I've designed flat surfaces for gluing rather than ball joints. Feel free to adapt your modeling approach around this design constraint. By the way, this Hiveship is a bit on the heavier side. If you'd like to scale it down to make it more comparable to an Imperial battleship, consider reducing its body mass by about 75%. Extending the X-axis to 115mm in length will also help achieve a more balanced look. However, keep in mind that this adjustment might cause some distortion in the valve and spiral patterns, as well as the fin mounts.
