The Type 97 Light Armored Car Te-Ke was a versatile tankette utilized by the Imperial Japanese Army during the Second Sino-Japanese War, at Nomonhan against the Soviet Union, and in World War II. Designed as a swift reconnaissance vehicle, it replaced the earlier Type 94 tankette. Massively weighing in at 4.7 tonnes (equivalent to 4.6 long tons or 5.2 short tons), this armored car boasts impressive dimensions: 3.68 meters (12.1 ft) in length, 1.80 meters (5 ft 11 in) in width, and a height of 1.9 meters (6 ft 3 in). Operating with a crew of two - commander and driver - the Type 97 Light Armored Car Te-Ke was built from the same blueprint as its predecessor, the Type 97.
