The Imperial Japanese Army employed the Type 94 tankette during the Second Sino-Japanese War, at Nomonhan against the Soviet Union, and in World War II. Although tankettes were frequently used as ammunition tractors and general infantry support, they were designed primarily for reconnaissance and not suited for direct combat. Mass totals 3.4 tonnes (equivalent to 3.35 long tons or 3.75 short tons). The vehicle's dimensions are: Length measures 3.08 meters (10 feet 1 inch). Width spans 1.62 meters (5 feet 4 inches). Height is also 1.62 meters (5 feet 4 inches) tall. The Type 94 tankette accommodates a crew of two: the commander and driver. This model was developed from the original Type 94 tankette blueprint.
