Tycho - lunar crater
thingiverse
The lunar crater Tycho's model, based on LOLA data, reveals it to be one of the younger craters with widespread ejecta plumes. This project is part of NASA/RISG's initiative to bring space science education to visually impaired individuals. The 3D print was made using Rhino3D software, converting laser altimetry data into a heightfield and mesh before applying it to a box structure for added height. It was printed on a Replicator but experienced some warpage due to adhesion issues with slab-like prints on the platform.
