This is an old Japanese "karakuri" automata mechanized doll called "TYAHAKOBI-NINGYOU". The instructions for making this machine are written in the book "KIKOUZUI", which was published in the 18th century. It's believed that the original model of this doll was made a long time ago. This doll has a unique feature - it can carry and serve tea to visitors, pouring it into a cup until it's empty. Then, after being taken away, the doll returns automatically to its starting position. Here are the steps to make this doll move: 1. Place it on a flat surface. 2. Roll up an elastic rubber drum. 3. Put a teacup on a tray. 4. The doll will start moving forward. 5. When someone takes away the teacup, the doll will stop moving. 6. As soon as the teacup is put back on the tray, the doll will change direction and head back to its starting point. 7. Once again, when someone takes away the teacup, the doll will come to a stop.
