TYA 426:5 Kääntöjalkasolki - Fibula with tendril foot Fibula with tendril foot was discovered in Nokian Viikin röykkiöstä during archeological excavations conducted in the year 1987 over a period of four. The bronze fibula belongs to the collection of Turun yliopiston arkeologian oppiaineen. A three-dimensional model of the artifact was created using RealityCapture software and focus stacking technique, which involved combining 883 photographs taken with varying levels of sharpness into a single image featuring 320 high-resolution frames. The original polygon mesh consisted of 4,004,380 polygons, which were subsequently simplified to 400,438 polygons. The precise documentation method used in the study reveals a small thread from cotton fabric embedded on the surface of the fibula during its handling process. Digitization was undertaken by a collaborative project involving Turun yliopiston arkeologian oppiaineen, Turun museokeskuksen, and Aboa Vetus et Ars Nova -museon in their joint 3D digitization initiative for archeological finds.
