TYA 244:395:B Mushroom-Shaped Necklace / Iron Age Neck-Ring with Fungal Ends The mushroom-shaped necklace was discovered at Paimion Spurilan's ancient Iron Age burial site in 1984 during an archaeological excavation. The bronze necklace is part of the University of Turku's Archaeology Department collection. A 3D model of the necklace was created using RealityCapture software from a series of 487 photographs. The original polygon mesh was simplified from 12,748,866 polygons to 382,466 polygons. The irregularities in the 3D digitization of the challenging iron age necklace were finally leveled out. Therefore, the 3D model is only suitable for visual inspection and cannot be used as a basis for precise measurements. The 3D digitization of archaeological finds was carried out by a joint project between the University of Turku's Archaeology Department, the City of Turku Museum Center, and Aboa Vetus et Ars Nova Museum.
