TX Guadalupe Peaks
thingiverse
I created this 3D model of Guadalupe Peaks in Texas. To get started, I downloaded an image file from usgs.gov and used Sculptris to craft the 3D outline of the terrain. The resulting 3D file was saved as an .obj format, so I needed a converter to change it into a .3ds file that could be edited in Sketchup. Once there, I applied the necessary modifications to create a stable base, then reconverted the file back into a usable .stl format for further processing.
