TwoUp 1/4 inch glass bed holders
thingiverse
Was tired of a warped bed and having to tape a piece of glass to the bed constantly. Occasionally the tape would come loose on longer prints, causing the glass plate to shift and ruining the print. Fed up, I decided to order custom annealed glass with a flat grind on all sides to hold the Y-axis carriage in place. 11/19/15 I included a Sketchup file of the holder for those who want to edit it to fit their specific bed materials size and shape. The front and back pieces are in one file, though they're asymmetric. Print Settings Printer: QU BD TwoUp Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 50% Notes: I designed this a while ago(August 2015) but found two files labeled front and back, which may be mirror images of each other. Custom Section Glass orders often have tight tolerances. I ordered the glass to be 1/4 x 7-1/4 x 11-1/2 inches exactly. The actual dimensions of my pieces can be off by up to 1/8 inch. Using electrical tape gave friction so the glass wouldn't slide in the plastic holders. More may be needed depending on your actual size of glass plate. A custom glass order was about $45 for one piece, including shipping. For two, it cost about $49 (shipping included), and I ordered two just in case I broke one.
