Using BuildRob's approach, I plan to create a dual X carriage modification for my Mendel Prusa 3D printer. To achieve this, I will need to print two carriages from the part available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:124255 and perform software updates using Marlin software as guided on http://www.thingiverse.com/buildrob. As I only have one functional printer, I will first build a second model to test this modification. The process involves printing two X axis ends and replacing them with the new carriages, adding motors, belts, and idlers on both sides. Finally, I'll position the carriages with fans on the outside for optimal cooling.
