Two Up Upper Z Rod Guide mounts (For 8mm Linear Rods)
thingiverse
I attempted to resolve the gantry sag affecting the Two Up by developing these solutions. My goal was to keep the Z rods parallel to the Y axis. Although it initially showed promise, the first print after installation displayed noticeable stability, but the following prints revealed that the Z wobble persisted. I wanted someone to test or refine my idea as it would enhance the overall structure of the setup. However, this modification comes at a cost, reducing the available Z travel by approximately 12mm. The design is engineered to accommodate a #6 screw and precisely matches its diameter for ease of tapping. Please approach with caution: a steady pace is necessary for optimal results. Additionally, you will need to drill the top plate to securely attach the screws. A crucial note: as this design aims to maintain structural squareness, the 8mm hole is slightly undersized. To ensure proper alignment and stability, I recommend printing three perimeter layers, then using a .312 (5/16") drill bit to enlarge the hole, allowing it to snugly fit onto the rod.
